In a bid to curb civic ignorance, promote literacy level and contribute to the general wellbeing of citizens of Nigeria, the PARO foundation has decided to start up and commit yearly to helping (youths and women) with emphasis on undergraduate students and BREAST CANCER patients.
The PARO foundation will cater for the school fees of selected undergraduate students in government tertiary schools yearly. Additionally, the foundation will help in the treatment of women diagnosed with BREAST CANCER and the general awareness of the disease.
The PARO foundation is poised to outlive generations to come and our journey through existence will primarily be centred around youths and women.
In a bid to curb civic ignorance and promote literacy level amongst youths, the PARO foundation will cater for the school fees of selected undergraduate students in government tertiary schools yearly. Additionally, the foundation will help in the general awareness and sensitization of women on personal health, with focus on BREAST CANCER.
As citizens of this great nation, we have been constantly fed with bad leadership, and the deliberate disinterest from the ever-growing youths has made the educational sanity of this great nation an uphill task. The societal acceptance of worshipping money and not even questioning the modus operandi of making wealth is alarming and it’s seen as the chief cause of the decay of educational standards. The foundation intends to cater for the school fees of at least five students in government tertiary establishments yearly. This educational aspect of the foundation is not going to run as an aid for indigent persons but rather to test the civic knowledge of the general denizens of Nigeria. So once you pass the exam, even as a child of the governor, then you’re qualified.
Besides the educational aspect, the health and general wellbeing of our citizens has also posed a threat to the development of our great nation. With our population, it is estimated that 80,000 people die annually from all forms of cancer. If you put into consideration our poor record keeping, you would agree that the figure will be way more than that. With the foundation focused on youths and women, we have decided to concentrate on BREAST CANCER (where being female is enough risk). The foundation will assist patients in their treatments. While it would be lovely to cater for all diagnosed sufferers, we will not be able to. Where the educational applicants go through examination screening, the health victims will be selected at the discretion of the board and based on the severity and financial situation of the cases. The team will also help in the general awareness and sensitization of women. Women diagnosed with breast cancer and are being managed in any of the government hospitals will be aided with payment of their treatment fees, and with the uncontrollable rise in cancer, the PARO foundation will annually organise seminars where professionals will be on ground to educate women on how to eradicate or manage the disease.
The PATRICK & ROSE ORIGBE FOUNDATION plans to occupy for as long as possible and outlive generations in time to come. This is a properly thought-out plan, and although, no matter how determined you are in achieving certain goals, without being conscious of the financial implications, you will be fetching water in the basket. We have reached out to corporate bodies, organisations and eminent personalities in the society who would continuously be of help to the foundation.
This foundation is breathing in memory of Sir Patrick & Lady Rose Origbe (KSJI). May their souls continue to rest in peace.
